He obtained his Bachelor in Quranic Exegesis and Hadith studies (with Hons.) from the State Institute for Islamic Studies of Imam Bonjol, Padang (2006). From 2008-2010 he went to pursue his Master in the University of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur with the fund of Graduate Research Assistant. Here, his focusing was on Indonesian-Hadith ulama. Following he completed his MA, he appointed as a part-time lecturer at STAI Solok (2010-2012) as well in STIT Sijunjung (2010-2013). In 2012, he was granted a fully funded scholarship for Ph.D at the University of Brunei Darussalam and finishing in 2016 on Hadith literatures wrote by Islamic-Malay scholars. He presented a number of papers in the conferences and university lectures locally, regionally and internationally. His research and teaching interests are Hadith and Its Sciences, Methodology of Hadith Commentary, Science of Rijal al-Hadith, Science of Ma'ani al-Hadith, Hadith Literature in the Malay Archipelago, Quranic Sciences and Its Exegesis.
